About Open Text to Speech
A free text-to-speech website for anyone who needs to turn written words into spoken audio, with no account, no trial and no paywall.

Who is behind it
Open Text to Speech is built and run by Abdul Waheed, an independent developer based in Jhang, Punjab, Pakistan. It is a small, independent project, not part of a larger company, and it launched in October 2026.
Why it exists
Most good text-to-speech tools ask you to create an account, start a trial, or pay before you can download anything. That is a real barrier for students, teachers, people with reading difficulties or visual impairments, and creators who just need a short voiceover.
Open Text to Speech is meant to remove that barrier: open the page, paste your text, pick a voice and listen. There is nothing to sign up for, and the website is available in 14 interface languages so more people can use it in their own language.
What you can do here
- Convert up to 2,000 characters per request into speech in the Studio and listen or download the audio.
- Choose from 583 voices across 76 languages and many regional accents, and browse them in the voice directory.
- Adjust speed, pitch and volume, and add pauses to your script with simple tags such as [pause:short] or [pause:1.5s].
- Use task-focused tools for audiobooks, YouTube voiceovers, meditation scripts and podcast intros.
How it works
When you press play, your text is sent to our server, which requests the audio from third-party speech providers, including Speechma and Microsoft Azure AI, and returns it to your browser. We do not ask for your name or email to use the tool. Our Privacy Policy explains in detail what is processed and why.
How it stays free
Running the website costs money for hosting and services. To keep it free for everyone, the site shows advertising served by Google AdSense. Ads are never placed inside your audio, and you do not need to pay or sign up for anything. Our Cookie Policy explains how advertising cookies work and how to control them.
