This page explains which cookies and similar technologies are used when you visit opentexttospeech.com, and how you can control them.

This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we process personal information more generally.
2. Cookies and storage we set ourselves
Open Text to Speech does not require an account, so we do not use cookies to log you in or to build a profile of you. We only store the small preferences the site needs to work the way you chose:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| opentts_locale | Cookie and local storage | Remembers the interface language you selected so pages open in that language next time. | Up to 1 year |
| opentts_theme | Cookie and local storage | Remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme. | Up to 1 year |
| opentts_… (audio cache keys) | Session storage | Keeps a temporary reference to audio you already generated in this tab, so replaying it is instant. | Deleted when you close the tab |
These items are strictly necessary for the features you use, or they store a preference you set yourself. They are not used for advertising and are not shared with third parties.
3. Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and measure site performance. Cloudflare Web Analytics is designed not to use cookies or local storage and does not track individual visitors across websites. You can read more in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
4. Advertising cookies (Google AdSense)
To keep Open Text to Speech free, we display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad performance, and, where permitted, show ads based on your interests and your visits to this and other websites.
Cookies used for this purpose are set by Google (for example on the doubleclick.net and googlesyndication.com domains), not by us. Their names and lifetimes are controlled by Google and can change; Google lists them in its technologies used for advertising page.
- Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- Turn off personalized advertising from Google: Ads Settings
- Opt out of personalized advertising from many other ad networks: aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.eu
5. Your consent
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message (provided through Google’s certified consent management platform) asks for your choice before advertising cookies are used to personalize ads. If you decline, Google may still show non-personalized ads, which use cookies only for purposes such as frequency capping, fraud prevention and aggregated reporting.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by clearing the cookies for opentexttospeech.com in your browser; the consent message will then appear again on your next visit.
6. How to control or delete cookies
Most browsers let you see, block and delete cookies and site data. Blocking our own preference cookies means the site will forget your language and theme choices; the text-to-speech tool will keep working. Instructions for common browsers:
